North Carolina Outdoor Recreation

Hunting isn’t the only great recreational activity in North Carolina.  If you own hunting land in North Carolina, but only come visit during hunting season, you’re missing out.

North Carolina has many uncrowded beaches with great surfing opportunities, fishing, boating, waterskiing and hang gliding.  On the other end of the spectrum, North Carolina also has many great mountains with beautiful scenery, great hiking opportunities, fly-fishing, white-water rafting and camping.

With lots of flat terrain, North Carolina is a great place for biking as well.  Depending on the type of property you own in North Carolina, you may be able to take a mountain bike through your property to explore in the spring and summer.  If you’re looking for some beach cruising, head to the Outer Banks, where you’ll find miles of bike trails with gorgeous beach scenery.

Camping is another outdoor activity you might want to try on your North Carolina land.  If you’re a camping enthusiast, head to the Great Smoky Mountains, where you could encounter bears, white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, grouse and many other types of wild animals.  The Smoky Mountains are also an excellent place for hiking and white-water rafting, particularly the Nantahala River.

Some other North Carolina outdoor activities you might be interested in are birding, golfing, fishing, horseback riding and skiing.
