Georgia has tons of lakes for fishing, boating and other recreational activities.  Check out Clarks Hill Lakeif you’re in eastern Georgia, Lake Hartwell in the northeast, or Lake Oconee, Lake Sinclair, or Lake Lanier in mid-state.

There are many beautiful golf courses in Georgia, particularly Reynolds Plantation, which hosts the World Championship qualifications.  If you’re looking for luxury, and if cost isn’t an issue, stay at the Ritz Carlton at Reynolds Plantation overlooking Lake Oconee and you won’t be disappointed.

If you’re looking for something very different to do outdoors in Georgia, try panning for gold.  The San Francisco gold rush fever actually began in Dahlonega, Georgia.  The gold mines are 250 feet underground.
